The Oil & Gas Technical Apprentice Programme (OGTAP) is one of the UK’s most successful schemes. The 2020 OGTAP apprenticeship scheme is open for applications until 16th March 2020.
Since OGTAP started in 1998, around 2,000 people have successfully completed their apprenticeships and are now working for companies in the energy industry.
The scheme is co-managed on behalf of the sector by OPITO (the global skills organisation for the energy sector), and the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB).
A series of films have been produced to help give you a better understanding of the oil and gas sector, the OGTAP scheme, and life as an apprentice on the road to an exciting career in the energy industry.
Here’s a taster from OGTAP Champions explaining why it is one of the most sought-after apprenticeships in the country…
Being an apprentice gives you the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications, combined with practical training with some of the most innovative oil and gas companies in the world.
As an apprentice you get to:
- Study towards related qualifications
- Gain job-specific skills
- Earn while you learn
In the video below, the OGTAP Champions provide some insight as to why they applied to join OGTAP and what it is like living away from home for the first time…
So, if becoming an OGTAP apprentice sounds like it could be for you, head over to apply today. (Applications for 2020 close 16 March at 4pm)
