An informed society and skilled workforce is vital for us to confront the challenges we face to deliver a secure, affordable and cleaner energy future.

OurFuture.Energy is an interactive website for teachers to find energy-themed resources for use in the classroom. The website features an ever growing bank of curriculum-aligned resource materials for schools in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The resources are designed to help teachers engage 11-16 year olds with the science underpinning the critical issues related to future energy supply and help equip their students with the knowledge to form their own informed opinion of the energy mix.

It will also encourage young people to develop an interest in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects to enable them to pursue rewarding and exciting careers within the energy sector.

Interactive games and quizzes, animations and videos, as well as current news stories will give young people an unbiased, relatable and immersive digital experience, equipping them with the knowledge to form their own views around the energy mix and the future.

As the skills organisation for energy, OPITO works with various stakeholders to develop a safe skilled workforce by driving global standards and qualifications, creating workforce development solutions and leading dialogue with industries and governments.

RenewableUK is the not-for-profit professional body and trade association focused on building the future energy system, powered by clean energy. It supports over 400 member companies to ensure increasing amounts of renewable electricity are deployed across the UK and access markets to export all over the world.

UK Onshore Oil and Gas (UKOOG) aims to create an industry that provides reliable, secure and affordable heating for homes, fuel for transport, power and feedstock for industry and good jobs by exploring for and producing natural gas and oil from Britain.

The Nuclear Industry Association (NIA) The Nuclear Industry Association (NIA) is the trade association for the civil nuclear industry in the UK. It represents more than 260 companies across the UK’s nuclear supply chain.

Glasgow Science Centre has been commissioned to create, develop and maintain the OurFuture.Energy website.
